Gabagool is a way to pronounce “capicola” with a Southern Italian/New Jersey accent.

In 2013, two guys from the east coast opened a food truck in Portland serving Italian-American cuisine inspired by the food and culture we grew up with. Three years later it had grown into a brick and mortar restaurant in the St Johns neighborhood of Portland, OR.

We serve hand rolled fresh pasta crafted on site daily. We keep our ingredients as fresh and local possible, and source others directly from Italy. Our recipes are molded around the traditional methods passed down through generations of Italian-American families, including making as much as possible from scratch. Food is only as good as its ingredients. Our sandwiches are made with piadina, an unleavened flatbread common in the northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. They are rolled and cooked to order, creating a thin, warm, flaky shell for a unique sandwich.
